Silver Cord is a Waukee Community School District (WCSD) program where students can volunteer for non-profit organizations. By April 30th of the student's senior year, they must have 175 volunteer hours recorded to earn a cord for graduation. However, completing Silver Cord hours goes way beyond earning a cord.

May 17, 2022 Silver Cord Program - By the Numbers It's a graduation tradition that exemplifies dedication to our community. 140 high school seniors will wear a silver cord to commencement, signifying their work in our Silver Cord Program. The Class of 2022 volunteered 28,338 hours as part of this program!
