If your transferred character's name conflicts with an existing name on a destination server, you will be asked to rename your character. In the case of Legacy names, unless you have unlocked your Legacy on your destination server, you will need to rename your Legacy upon transfer (although you may pick the same Legacy name as on your origin.

When you transfer a character to another server it merges the legacy from the origin server meaning if you have achievements and unlocks on the origin server they will become unlocked on the destination server. I've switched server a couple of times over the years and always transfer a toon to bring my legacy and achievements with me.

Even now it's not to late to do a down and dirty transfer of character legacies (the legacy data should be independent of the character's possessions) and boost the server population. The economy on the server is healthy right now but it does need to be a home for people with terrible pings to other servers too.

Your legacy storage does not transfer. Essentially, put everything you want to take with you in your personal storage, or on your character and then log out. Once in your new server, all achievements, levels, reputations and so on will be there. As you said, your decorations will be available, but not placed.

If you transfer a character to a new server, that character will take your Legacy with them to the destination server.

I have several characters on one fully levelled legacy. If I were to transfer one of those characters to a second server, it's my understanding that the server with the highest level merges with the one on the destination server (as the second legacy is a lower level)
